Operational Alignment is the state where every member of a leadership team understands the same priorities, operates under the same standards, and makes decisions using the same framework. It is not agreement on strategy. It is consistency in execution. Two leaders in different departments facing a similar decision would handle it the same way because they are operating within the same system.

Strategic alignment gets the attention. Operational alignment determines the outcome. A leadership team can agree on strategy and still execute inconsistently because each leader interprets the strategy through their own operational habits.
